Pasig 'shabu' warehouse busted; Macapagal elated

ELEMENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force swooped down on a Pasig City laboratory Saturday and seized several kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and other chemicals, GMA Network's "Flash Report" said.

The Saturday raid follows a successful operation in Antipolo City wherein 1,000 kilos of shabu, worth 2.1 billion pesos, were confiscated in the government's biggest illegal drug haul Friday.

The raid on the Pasig warehouse, allegedly rented by a certain Nico Tan, yielded 24 kilograms of shabu, 24 kilograms of ephedrine, and other illegal drug paraphernalia.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo praised the PDEA-PNP raiding team for their continued successes in busting illegal drug syndicates in the country.
