Manila airport drama kills 2 

MANILA — Philippine security forces ended a siege at the control tower of Manila’s airport by killing a former aviation chief and one of his men, airport officials said today. “It’s over,” Edgardo Manda, general manager of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, told reporters. “We can now receive international flights.” Panfilo Villaruel, a former pilot and air force officer, entered the tower just before midnight with bodyguards and told employees to leave, officials and security official at the airport said. “We are being killed here,” Villaruel said on live radio as shots and groans could be heard in the background. “We surrender.” Villaruel earlier told local radio he was fed up with corruption in the government.
