Bomb scare hits House of Representatives

By Miko Santos

BOMB experts cordoned off the south entrance of the House of Representatives Wednesday after a bomb threat was received at the Lower Chamber. There was no bomb found.

A staffer of Isabela Rep. Rodolfo Albano said a woman caller told her that a bomb had been planted inside the building.

The call prompted operatives of the police Special Action Force and the
Bomb Squad to evacuate employees from the building.

But an inspection of the building yielded no bomb.

Congressmen who were discussing developments in the impeachment case against Supreme Court Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. however decided to remain in the building.
