Estrada in hospital for 3 to 4 more days

Jailed ex-president Joseph Estrada will be spending three to four more days in hospital.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) submitted a medical report on Tuesday to the Sandiganbayan detailing Estrada's ailment that need hospital care.

Chief Supt. Prospero Noble, head of Estrada's police security, said he was told by doctors that the former president has to undergo a series of medical tests that may take three to four days at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Doctors said Estrada could in be in danger of feet paralysis and further tests must be conducted. Noble told the court the PNP would step up security for Estrada. He said Estrada would be transported back to Camp Capinpin in Tanay, Rizal as soon as the doctors allow him to leave the hospital.

Estrada, who complained of back pains, underwent a magnetic resonance imaging Monday, among other tests.

His doctor, Dr. Lorenzo Hocson, convinced the court Monday to allow Estrada's hospitalization for a few more days to check on his severe back pains. The doctors are also opting a knee operation.
