Muslim militant killed by Philippine military

The Philippines military says the escaped militant Fathur Rohman al-Ghozi has been killed in the southern Philippines. A military spokesman said al-Ghozi, a member of the Jemaah Islamiyah militant group, was killed in a joint police-military operation, but gave no other details. Al-Ghozi was serving a 17-year prison sentence when he escaped with two other Muslim militants from police headquarters in Manila. He's admitted to taking part in last year's Bali bombings that killed 202 people. Jemaah Islamyiah is thought to have close links to the al Qaeda terror network.
