ALL hotels in Bacolod City are fully booked for the forthcoming 24th MassKara Festival slate October 11-19, 2003.

Mayor Luzviminda Valdez disclosed that the City Government is presently experiencing difficulty in accommodating more foreign and local tourists.

“We got problems as to where to house our international visitors because we received communication that there will be more Korean visitors who will visit the city for the festival,” said Valdez.

Valdez suggested that the visitors could stay at the Quiet Place in Bago City, Mambukal Resort in Murcia and some resorts in the nearby cities.

Masskara queen

On the other hand, the MassKara Foundation Inc. will present the 12 MassKara Queen 2003 candidates on Oct. 4 at the Convention Plaza Hotel.

The candidates are Jabbie Barbajo, Jo-Ann Ea, Weena Casuyon, Mita Sedillo, Joise Hormigoso, Reasol Constantino, Helen Joy Remo, Richell Catalan, Ritchell Gomez, Nicole Puentevella, Christine Agravante and Nory Kho.

On Charter day

Valdez said the city has difficulties finding national and international guests for the Charter Day celebration on Oct. 18 reportedly because of the scheduled state visit of US President George Bush.

Valdez, on the other hand, assured Bacolodnons and would-be visitors to the MassKara Festival that the Bacolod City Police Office with the Provincial Police Office, Regional Mobile Group and military have beefed up security measures for the safety of the visitors and to maintain peace and order situation in the city.
